Our Story
Founded in 1982, our veterinary clinic has proudly served the community for over four decades, providing compassionate and dependable care for pets of all kinds. What began as a small, dedicated practice has grown into a trusted part of the neighborhood—known for our commitment to quality, integrity, and personalized service.
After working at the clinic for ten years, Dr. Jackson took ownership, keeping it an independently owned and locally operated practice. Under Dr. Jackson’s leadership, we continue to honor the clinic’s long-standing values while embracing modern advancements in veterinary medicine.
Our team shares a passion for delivering the highest level of care—combining experience, empathy, and innovation. We believe exceptional veterinary medicine should be both accessible and progressive, ensuring every pet receives top-quality care in a welcoming, affordable environment.
A Sarasota native, Dr. Jackson has always had a deep-rooted passion for animals. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology with a minor in Business Management from the University of Florida in 2005. In 2011, she graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada, where she further developed her expertise in veterinary medicine.
Since then, Dr. Jackson has built a strong foundation in both emergency and small animal medicine, with a particular interest and extensive experience in caring for English and French Bulldogs.
Dr. Jill Jackson
Owner & Veterinarian
After a decade of dedicated service at Beneva Animal Hospital, Dr. Jackson proudly became the owner in 2024. She now leads one of the few remaining privately owned veterinary practices in Sarasota, continuing the tradition of personalized, compassionate care.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Jackson enjoys quality time with her husband, family, and a lively crew of pets—including two dogs (Jake and Remy), two cats (Cheddar Bay Biscuit and Baby Girl), and 11 beloved chickens. When she’s not with her animals, she loves boating, fishing, and traveling. She is also an active member of the Sarasota County 4-H Foundation.
Professionally, Dr. Jackson has a special interest in dermatology and dentistry, and is committed to delivering high-quality, comprehensive care to every patient.

Dr. Holly Weber
Veterinarian
Dr. Weber earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Florida Institute of Technology. After exploring a career outside of veterinary medicine, she made the decision to follow her lifelong passion and pursue veterinary school. She graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010.
Since then, Dr. Weber has proudly served the Sarasota and Bradenton communities, bringing over 15 years of experience in both general and emergency veterinary care. She is certified in veterinary acupuncture through the Chi Institute, which complements her integrative approach to animal health. Her professional interests include dermatology, dentistry, and feline medicine.
Dr. Weber has been an active member of the Southwest Florida Veterinary Medical Association (SWFVMA) since 2011 and has served on its board since 2018.
When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Weber enjoys spending time with her husband, Jason, and their four cherished pets—two dogs and two senior cats. In her free time, she loves rowing, traveling, and making memories with family and friends.

Charity
Charity has been a valued member of the Beneva family for nearly a decade. Since becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2010, she has dedicated herself to providing compassionate, high-quality care to the pets of Sarasota.
At home, Charity enjoys life on a farm with her husband, daughter, and a lively mix of animals—including horses, chickens, dogs, cats, and even a pig. A devoted animal lover, she has a special fondness for King Charles Cavaliers and currently shares her home with two. Over the years, she has cared for a wide variety of breeds, from a tiny 4-pound Toy Poodle to a 110-pound Rottweiler.
With her diverse experience and deep understanding of animals of all shapes and sizes, Charity is committed to meeting the unique needs of every pet she cares for.
Ann
Ann started her career over five years ago as a kennel technician at an animal shelter. She then spent three years working in emergency and ICU veterinary medicine, learning from some of the best vets around.
Now part of the Beneva team—her “unicorn” clinic—Ann brings her skills and compassion to care for animals at every stage of illness.
When she’s not working, Ann enjoys spending time with her rescue pets, known as the “misfits.” She loves animal photography and often takes photos of her own pets and others. You might also find her exploring the beaches of Venice, Florida, hunting for shark teeth.

Jordyn
Jordyn has six years of experience as a veterinary technician, including five years in ER, ICU, and emergency surgery. Passionate about advancing veterinary care, she is dedicated to continuous learning and sharing her knowledge with colleagues, clinics, and pet parents.
Jordyn is also a Certified Therapeutic Nutrition Coach and is now accepting clients, helping pet parents support their pets’ health through individualized nutrition and wellness guidance.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Jordyn enjoys exploring the outdoors with her rescue pets, especially her heart dog, Athena, drawing, and hunting for shark teeth along the beach.

Lisa
Practice Manager
For over a decade, Lisa has been the backbone of Beneva Animal Hospital, serving as our dedicated Practice Manager. With a passion for creating a positive and supportive workplace, she ensures everything runs smoothly behind the scenes so our team can focus on delivering exceptional care.
Outside the clinic, Lisa treasures time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, enjoying every moment with her close-knit family.
Vallory
Head Receptionist
Vallory has been a valued member of the Beneva Animal Hospital team for over 7 years. She began her journey in the kennel and, through dedication and hard work, has grown into the role of Head Receptionist. When you enter through the dog side of the hospital, you'll be welcomed by her warm smile and upbeat personality.
Outside of work, Vallory enjoys relaxing with a good book and spending quality time with her beloved (and very pampered) dog, Rowan.
Holley
Holley has been a valued member of the Beneva Animal Hospital team for over 11 years and brings more than 15 years of experience in the veterinary field. She loves working at the front desk, where she gets to greet clients and their pets—it's her favorite part of the day!
Outside of work, Holley enjoys spending time with her beloved rescue dog, Honey, and cherishing moments with her grandchildren.
Rhonda
Rhonda has been a valued member of the Beneva Animal Hospital team for over two years, working part-time at our front desk. Her warm personality and unmistakable, contagious laugh make her instantly recognizable to clients and staff alike.
Outside of work, Rhonda enjoys spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and beloved pets.
Tracy
Tracy has been a valued member of the Beneva Animal Hospital team for over three years. Before joining us, she specialized in surgical and dental care as a veterinary technician, bringing a wealth of experience to our practice.
Outside of work, Tracy enjoys traveling with her husband, Richard, and cherishes time at home with their beloved blind dog, Buddy, and their three cats—Olive, Oscar, and Reggie.
Don
Don has been a valued member of the Beneva Animal Hospital team for over 25 years. As the heart of our kennel operations, he ensures everything runs smoothly—from maintaining clean and comfortable kennels to managing laundry and facility upkeep.
Don also lends a hand in our grooming department, providing gentle, caring baths for pets in need of a fresh start. At 81 years young, Don brings dedication, warmth, and a great sense of humor to work every day—often saying with a smile, “I came with the building!”

Seamus
Head Security
Seamus is our resident security expert at Beneva, bringing maximum big dog energy to the office every day. He keeps a close eye on everyone (especially strangers—he’s not a fan) and makes sure nothing suspicious gets past his watch.
Off the clock, Seamus lives for tennis balls, patrols his farm like a boss, and ends each evening cuddled up with his favorite sidekick, Chewbacca. He takes his job seriously—but not as seriously as tennis balls.
Meggie
Treatment Room Attendant
Meggie has been part of the team for about five years and has fully embraced the clinic lifestyle. While home life wasn’t quite her thing, she thrives in her role as our resident character.
Meggie’s hobbies include sneaking into off-limits hiding spots and keeping our technicians on their toes with constant cleanup duties. While affection is on her terms (and usually rare), her true love language is snacks—and she isn’t shy about asking for them.

Remy & Jake
Kennel Security
Jake, the “big guy” at 6 years old, is a carb-loving gentle giant who’s been known to sneak a bagel or two as his preferred form of payment. With a cheerful personality and a bark that commands attention, he takes his security role seriously and ensures everyone stays in line.
Remy, at 4 years old, may have had a tough start but has since grown into one of the toughest members of the team. Don’t be fooled by his size—he’s fearless and isn’t afraid to switch into full “gremlin mode” when duty calls.
When their shift ends, these two turn into full-time couch potatoes, unwinding with some TV and plenty of snacks.
Honey
Reception Attendant
Honey is our front-desk attendant, bringing the perfect blend of sweet and sass to the clinic. She keeps a watchful eye on our receptionists—because, let’s be honest, those ladies can get a little wild!
When she’s not keeping everyone in line, Honey loves toys, playtime, and spreading good vibes. After a long day at work, her favorite pastime is spending quality time with her mom… preferably with plenty of treats involved.
And while she adores her mom, Honey never leaves the sass at home—she’s got a reputation to maintain and a small size to make up for!
Buddy
Front Desk Security
Buddy is our distinguished senior gentleman, and while he may not have eyes, he takes his role as guardian very seriously. From his post at the front desk (which sometimes gets in the way—he may have forgotten it’s even there), Buddy is always on the lookout for any potential danger.
When he’s off duty, Buddy heads home to continue security detail—making sure the house is safe and that his mom prepares dinner just right. With a truly refined palate, Buddy accepts only the finest cuisine fit for a dog of his stature.
Equal parts hardworking and charming, Buddy reminds us every day that dedication (and good taste) never fades with age.
